Dr L Iri Kupferwasser | Cardiologist Van Nuys | Sylmar | Sherman Oaks | TarzanaL. Iri Kupferwasser, MD, holds privileges in various hospitals in the San Fernando Valley as well as in Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. His main expertise include clinical and consultative cardiology and vascular medicine, cardiac interventions, cardiac imaging, lipid lowering, congestive heart failure and preventive cardiology.

Dr. Kupferwasser is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology as well as the European Society of Cardiology and is board-certified in Cardiovascular Diseases, Interventional Cardiology, Echocardiography and Nuclear cardiology. His particular interests also include individualized weight loss techniques. His work has been published in numerous peer-reviewed publications, including the Journal of American College of Cardiology and Circulation. In addition to his published research articles, Dr. Kupferwasser has lectured extensively on infective endocarditis, arterial hypertension and the lifestyle management of cardiovascular disease.

Dr. Kupferwasser has the distinction of being named Outstanding Fellow of the Year by Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in two consecutive years. In 2003, he was awarded the International Aspirin Award in recognition for his research on Aspirin in Infective Endocarditis. As the result of his accomplishments, Dr. Kupferwasser's biography has been selected for inclusion in the 63rd edition of Marquis Who's Who in America, America's leading biographical reference publisher.

Dr. Kupferwasser received his medical degree from the Johannes-Gutenberg University, Germany, and completed his residency at St. Mary Medical Center/Harbor-UCLA Medical Center. He fulfilled his general and interventional cardiology fellowship at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. He is the proud father of a daughter and a son.
