Michael Hakimi, D.O., FACC

Dr Michael Hakimi | Cardiologist Van Nuys | Sylmar | Sherman Oaks | TarzanaMichael Hakimi, D.O., FACC, is the newest member of the Heart Medical Group, joining us in 2014. Dr. Hakimi received his undergraduate training at the University of Southern California. He went on to Touro University College of Osteopathic Medicine for his medical school training. After completing his residency in Internal Medicine in New York, he went to the prestigious Deborah Heart and Lung Center in New Jersey for his cardiology training. At Deborah, he was made chief fellow of cardiology. He continued his training at Deborah in interventional cardiology and peripheral interventions with a specialty in interventions done via the wrist (radial artery).

"I have a true passion for cardiology, and I empathize with patients who struggle with cardiac and circulatory health issues of all type," said Dr. Hakimi. "From chest pain and shortness of breath to leg cramps and pain with walking, my ultimate goal in treating patients is to restore their health and improve their quality of life."

Dr. Hakimi has published several articles on topics such as aortic stenosis, peripheral venous disease and acute stent thrombosis. He is also board-certified in cardiology, interventional cardiology, endovascular (peripheral) medicine, nuclear cardiology, echocardiography, internal medicine as well as the Registered Physician of Vascular Interpretation certification. Furthermore, Dr. Hakimi is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and Diplomate of the American Board of Vascular Medicine. In addition, Dr. Hakimi was recently honored with receiving the 2014 Pride in Profession Award.
